All Video Downloader is a program that lets you download videos from websites that host them.
Websites like YouTube and Dailymotion host videos that users have shared. Watching these videos means accessing the service that hosts them because downloading isn’t supported. All Video Downloader overcomes this limitation by capturing the stream provided by the service and putting it to file. This means that you can save your favorite videos to disk. In other words, you can watch videos without ads and other interference, and if the uploader or copyright holder ever remove the video, you’ll still have unfettered access to it.
All Video Downloader is a small package that installs easily, runs fast and isn’t resource intensive. Downloading and converting a video is easy. Simply copy the link location from your web browser, and then, paste that link into the URL textbox in the program. When you’re ready to download, click the Download button. That’s it. AVD handles batches, so you can continue to add videos to download while it works in the background. It can even be left to run unattended. One limitation is that AVD only supports two simultaneous downloads at a time. This isn’t a huge deal, but it does mean that users with powerful computers and fast connections won’t take full advantage of them.
The software supports most major video sharing websites as well as many others sites. Many new sites will work with the program automatically, but some sites will require a program update, and the program doesn’t provide avenues for advanced users to overcome these problems themselves. This is an issue with individual videos as well. If a video fails for some reason other than codec support, then there’s very little you can do about it. The good news is that All Video Downloader is very stable and will download the vast majority of videos with ease. If codec support is ever an issue for you, then you can fix this simply by updating Windows with the required codec.
All Video Downloader also lets you dictate the output format as well as the output location. By default, AVD will convert into MP4 and place the videos within its own file structure. However, you can change the output format to any codec that is installed on your computer and supports writing, and you can output to any location you have access to, including network shares.
- Very stable
- Compatible with many video websites
- Supports many different file formats
- Limited to two concurrent downloads
- Videos that fail likely require a program update
